Killington VT Snowboard trip.

I know I set this up to be a motorcycle ride blog. But being it winter and the bike is put away till spring. I thought I would share a Vermont trip.

Got back from a great time up in Killington VT. We left Thursday morning and drove through snow storm Hercules in a mini buss. The roads over all were not that bad. A few times we only traveling at 35 MPH (posted speed limit 55/65. Most of the time the roads were snow covered with tracks from other cars/trucks. Once on I-787 in Albany NY it was as if they forgot about I-787. I-787 was covered in snow or thick slush. The mini bus I was driving was starting to sided in a few different directions. It got a little scary, but yet fun in away. Here is a shot of back of the mini buss when we got to Rutland, VT. The back door was frozen shut. It was -4 degrees with a wind chill that felt like -20.

Friday morning we wake up and head to Killington. I was amazed about how fast the roads went from not great to good. Vermont unlike here in DC know how to clear roads. It was great fresh powder to packed powder. Not sure what the temp was until around 2:00 pm. At the top of K1 Express Gondola was a sign that had "-2 @ 2:05 PM". I braved the cold to try and take some photos. My Conon S12 was frozen and would not work right. My Samsung allowed me to take 1 photo before it shut off. Even though it was cold it was still a great day. Kind of bummed Killing don't have any night skiing/snowboarding. The slopes close at 4:00 PM

Saturday morning we wake up and head to Killington. The day started off nice. It was cold but much warmer then Friday a high of 19 degrees. The only downside was early afternoon the winds kicked up. Found more ice then fresh powder even some of the packed powder or maybe the wind just blew all the lose snow away and left ice. Not sure if it was true but one of the staff working one of the lifts said they are calling for wind gust up to 15 mph. I would take the colder day over the windy day.  I mounted a Gopro to the front of my board. It worked well till one of the black diamond took it off. A skier happen to find it and being it down to the bottom of the slope. I'll see about getting that video up later.

Sunday morning get up and head back to DC.

Here is a My Track of Killington. Phone froze a few times so not sure how much of the 2 days was missed.
